Flowers for a Child

Daisy white you look so pert

In your spotless frilly skirt

Innocent, and yet I wist

By the crimson roses kissed.

Daisy pied and starry eyed

Carmine lips to you are plied

All the children know your name

Yet the roses blush for shame.

Growing winsome, growing wild

Just the keepsake for a child

Whose joy and laughter you must share

To make a daisy chain to wear.
